Cesani's everyday Chianti from the Colli Senesi sub-zone south-west of San Gimignano. Field-blend Sangiovese with bright red-cherry, tomato-leaf and rosemary lift.

What it pairs with

  • Pasta al pomodoro
Tomato-leaf in the wine echoes the sauce; Sangiovese acid keeps it bright.
  • Pizza margherita
Tomato and mozzarella with Sangiovese's red cherry and rosemary lift.
  • Tuscan salame and bread
Cured pork meets the wine's medium tannin; rosemary mirrors the salame herbs.

History

Cesani has bottled Chianti Colli Senesi since the early 1970s. The Colli Senesi sub-zone covers the Sangiovese hills south of San Gimignano and around Siena; Cesani farms organically and field-blends Sangiovese with small Canaiolo and Colorino shares.
