Tommasi's estate Amarone Classico represents the fourth-generation family's traditional approach: a high proportion of Corvinone adds floral lift to the dried-cherry concentration while three years in large casks develops structure.

What it pairs with

  • Beef stew with rosemary and garlic
The wine's firm tannins and dried herb notes integrate perfectly with long-simmered beef.
  • Monte Veronese d'Allevo aged cheese
Local Verona mountain cheese brings salt and fat to balance the wine's concentration.

History

Tommasi has been producing Amarone since the early years of the commercial appellation. The family's traditional approach with large Slavonian oak casks has remained consistent across four generations in the Classico zone.

  1. 1952 — Tommasi begins Amarone production from San Pietro in Cariano vineyards
  2. 2000 — Fourth-generation Giancarlo Tommasi takes over winemaking
