The Lirac counterpart to La Mordoree's Chateauneuf; similar Mourvedre-accented depth and garrigue character but at a more accessible price from the neighbouring appellation.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled lamb and eggplant
Herb-driven dark fruit pairs naturally with grilled lamb and vegetable.
  • Duck breast with cherry sauce
Dark fruit and leather notes complement duck and the fruity sauce.

History

La Mordoree's original home is in Tavel, and the estate also owns Lirac parcels across the Rhone from Chateauneuf. The Reine des Bois Lirac is the red expression from these old Grenache and Mourvedre vines.

  1. 1997 — Reine des Bois Lirac rouge first produced from estate parcels
