In the glass
Aroma: citrus blossom, white peach, fresh herbs, mineral stone, subtle oak spice
Palate: grapefruit zest, nectarine, lemon curd, vibrant acidity, creamy Semillon texture
One of the most prestigious white Bordeaux wines from Saint-Estephe, produced from a 10-hectare dedicated white wine parcel. Fresh, vibrant, and barrel-fermented; the Sauvignon Blanc drive and Semillon texture achieve remarkable complexity.
What it pairs with
-
Langoustines with bisque butter
The wine's citrus acidity and Semillon richness cut through bisque richness while complementing delicate crustacean sweetness. -
Grilled turbot or sole
White fish with delicate flesh is lifted by Sauvignon Blanc's grass-and-citrus aromatics; oak adds weight without overpowering. -
Soft-ripened Brie or Chaource
Creamy Norman cheese calls for the wine's citrus lift; oak structure bridges the richness.
History
Cos d'Estournel Blanc was launched with the 2005 vintage to produce a premium white wine from a dedicated 10-hectare parcel, becoming one of the most sought-after white Bordeaux outside the Graves and Sauternes appellations. The combination of organic viticulture and barrel fermentation quickly established it as a reference point for white Medoc wines.
