Aroma: fresh red cherry, plum, light herbs, soft cedar

Palate: strawberry, red fruit, gentle tannin, light mineral

The renamed second wine of Beau-Sejour Becot (formerly Tournelle de Beau-Sejour Becot), renamed Petit Becot in 2012. Merlot-dominant with fresh red cherry character and gentle tannin; designed for early drinking pleasure.

What it pairs with

  • Grilled beef burger with Emmental
Juicy red fruit and medium tannin complement the burger's beef patty; mild cheese integrates easily.
  • Roast pork loin with apples
Red fruit register echoes the apple; gentle acidity cuts through pork fat.
  • Chicken terrine with herbs
Delicate poultry terrine matches the wine's fresh, medium-bodied profile; herb accompaniment finds the wine's light herbal notes.

History

Petit Becot is the renamed second wine of Chateau Beau-Sejour Becot. Previously known as Tournelle de Beau-Sejour Becot, the name was modernized to Petit Becot in 2012. Produced from younger vines and parcels not selected for the grand vin, it reflects the same plateau limestone terroir in a more accessible register.

  1. 2012 — Renamed Petit Becot (previously Tournelle de Beau-Sejour Becot)
