Mourvedre-led Bandol rose from Gros Nore. Saline and garrigue-driven with red-fruit lift and the structure to handle Provencal cooking.

What it pairs with

  • Aioli garni
The Provencal cod-vegetable-garlic platter wants a rose with backbone; Gros Nore delivers the body.
  • Stuffed sardines provencale
Oily fish with herb-and-breadcrumb stuffing meets the rose's saline and herb register.
  • Pan bagnat
The Nicoise tuna sandwich finds a peer in the rose's salt and Mourvedre's grippy backbone.
  • Stuffed courgette flowers
Provencal summer classic meets a rose with body to handle the ricotta filling.

History

Gros Nore Rose has been bottled alongside the red since the estate's first vintage in 1997. Alain Pascal vinifies the rose with the same precision as the red, giving the wine genuine structure.
