Terre Arse (burnt lands - a reference to Marsala's sun-scorched landscape) is Florio's dry-style Marsala Vergine mid-tier: oxidative, nutty and almond-driven, without the full intensity of the Riserva.

What it pairs with

  • Dried almond and pistachio biscotti
The wine's almond-hazelnut notes pair seamlessly with Sicilian nut-based pastries.
  • Mild aged Pecorino
Dry oxidative character and medium body balance the mild tanginess of sheep's-milk cheese.
  • Foie gras terrine
The wine's oxidative complexity and dry fortification are a classic match with rich foie gras.

History

Terre Arse was introduced to fill a mid-tier position in the Florio dry Marsala range, sitting between the standard Vergine and the Riserva. The name honours the Marsala landscape's distinctive sun-bleached, heat-scorched quality that defines the terroir of the Grillo grape.
