Sunny Pic Saint-Loup Syrah-led red, partly oak-aged. Spicy, peppery, supple - built for the dinner table rather than the cellar.

What it pairs with

  • Roast pork loin with herbes de Provence
Sweet spice and supple tannin meet pork's fat; herbs echo the wine's garrigue.
  • Beef tartare with cornichons
Spicy red fruit and pepper sit well with raw beef and acidity.
  • Aged Tomme de Savoie
Supple tannin complements semi-aged cow's milk cheese.

Frequently asked about Bonne Pioche

What does Bonne Pioche taste like?

Red and black fruit, garrigue, sweet spice and pepper on the nose; spicy red fruit, vanilla, thyme and supple tannin on the palate. Medium-bodied with a medium finish.

When should I drink Bonne Pioche?

Drink between 3 and 10 years from vintage. The wine is approachable young; the partial oak aging gives it a few more years than an unoaked cuvée.

What food pairs with Bonne Pioche?

Roast pork loin with herbes de Provence is the canonical match; beef tartare with cornichons and aged Tomme de Savoie also work well.

What grapes are in Bonne Pioche?

65% Syrah with Grenache and Mourvèdre completing the blend. Sourced from Clavel's organically farmed Pic Saint-Loup parcels.
