Almagyar was established in 2009 to rescue a century-old vineyard section on Eger's Almagyar hill that was threatened with removal. The estate now farms roughly 8 hectares with a natural-wine, spontaneous-fermentation approach and runs its own Borkemping campsite and Venyige Spa for overnight visitors.
Tip: Almagyar does not sit inside the main Szepasszony-volgy cellar street, so it stays quieter than the town-centre wineries even on festival weekends; contact the estate directly to visit.
